ALPENA ­- Zonta Club of Alpena is looking for nominations for Woman of the Year.

The event will be held again this year at the APlex on Wednesday, April 26.

All nominations must be sent by March 1.

The Woman of the Year banquet is an annual event hosted by the Zonta Club of Alpena since 1966. The purpose of this banquet is to honor a woman for her volunteerism in our community.

Here are the submission rules:

1. The honoree cannot be a Zonta Club member.

2. Can be nominated by anyone in the community.

3. Must live within a 25-mile radius of Alpena.

4. Must not receive nor have received compensation for the work for which she is being nominated.

5. Must be making or have made a significant contribution to our community.

After receiving nominations, members of the WOY committee will make the annual selection in secret and will contact the selected honoree’s family and friends.
