Alpena FamilySearch Center open Tuesdays, Wednesdays

ALPENA — The Alpena FamilySearch Center is opening from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week.

Four new computers are available in the center as well as the assistance of two people working that day.

The Alpena FamilySearch Center is located at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at 411 Long Rapids Plaza.

In the event of inclement weather, the Center will close if and when Alpena Public Schools close.

The mission of the Alpena FamilySearch Center is to bring families together, to assist and promote family history research. The Center serves all of Northeast Michigan with genealogical resources. This includes counties of Alcona, Alpena, Cheboygan, Montmorency and Presque Isle. The Center provides a quiet space for serious genealogists and beginners alike. Two volunteers staff the Center — generally a member of The Northeast MI Genealogical Society and a church member — offering a great deal of experience in the fields of history and genealogy.
