LWV Lunch Bunch Friday

The League of Women Voters of Northeast Michigan invites anyone interested to Lunch Bunch, an informal monthly lunch discussion of current issues and other topics of interest. The group will meet at noon on Friday, at Mangos, 121 W. Chisholm St. in Alpena. Reservations are not necessary.

ASO concert canceled

The Alpena Symphony Orchestra’s Oct. 23 concert has been canceled due to lack of instrumentation.

Updates to the future concert schedule will be announced here as soon as more details are released.

Senior Thanksgiving meal to be take-out only

The Alpena Senior Citizens Center Thanksgiving Dinner will be curbside only, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 10. The center will be open that day, but not for indoor dining.

The center is expecting lots of orders, so please call 989-356-3585 to order your meal by Nov. 5.

The menu includes turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, vegetable, roll, apple pie and juice.

The suggested donation for seniors age 60 and over is $3.50. The cost for anyone under age 60 is $7. The center is located at 501 River St., Alpena.
