ALPENA — Learn about Michigan’s Tree Army in an upcoming program hosted by the Alpena County Library.
Join historian, Hillary Pine, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, for an in-depth look at Michigan’s Civilian Conservation Corps. The CCC was a Great Depression-era, New Deal program that put 100,000 young men to work in over 120 camps here in Michigan. Discover how the CCC had lasting impacts on the program’s participants, local communities, and on Michigan’s landscape.
This program is presented in partnership with the Library’s Special Collections Department and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
