Free quit-smoking program starts online Oct. 15

To help smokers kick the habit, MidMichigan Health will host a virtual American Lung Association’s Freedom From Smoking program this fall. The free eight-week program will be held Oct. 15 through Dec. 3. Sessions will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. via GoToMeeting.

Designed to help smokers gain control over their behavior, each session is led by a certified American Lung Association facilitator. Attendees will be given support, encouragement and the tools to develop a plan for quitting and living a smoke-free life. Led in a group format, the sessions help encourage attendees to work on the process and problems of quitting, individually and as part of a group.

All program materials and login information will be mailed to registrants prior to the first meeting. Participants will join the GoTo Meeting from their smart phone, computer, tablet or other device with an internet connection.

Registration is required and can be completed at www.midmichigan.org/freedomfromsmoking. If you need assistance registering, call the MidMichigan Health Line toll-free at 1-800-999-3199.
