Zonta Club awards scholarships to women
The Zonta Club of Alpena has awarded the following scholarships for the 2020/2021 school year:
Alpena Community College Scholarships:
Traditional ACC Student Scholarships:
Jade Schultz: Jade is planning on earning her Associate Degree in Applied Sciences at ACC and transferring to a four-year college/university for a degree in Dietetics. Her professional goal is to become a Registered Dietitian and assist people in achieving health and healing through dietary education.
Rachel Suszek: Rachel plans to obtain her Associate Degree at ACC, and ultimately her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at a four-year college or university.
Non-traditional ACC Student Scholarships:
Ashley Young: Ashley plans to complete her Associate Degree in Nursing at ACC and continue on for her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Ashley is particularly interested in women’s health and has a goal of working in the Obstetrics Department at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena as a Registered Nurse.
Paige Frantz: Paige has a goal of completing her Associate Degree in Nursing at ACC with an ultimate career goal of working in the Intensive Care environment at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena as a Registered Nurse.
Young Women in Public Affairs Award:
Madison Timmreck: Madison plans to obtain dual undergraduate degrees in business and health/nutritional sciences at the University of Michigan and ultimately to pursue medical school. Madison would like to become a pediatrician and has a particular interest in addressing health disparities that present in rural communities.
Alpena High School Senior attending a four-year college or university:
Alysa Funk: Alysa plans to major in Sports Management and minor in Professional Writing at Spring Arbor University. Her career goal is to work for a professional sports team.
