Alpena steps up for Midland

Courtesy Photo After 10 days of requesting help for Midland, Alpena came through with enough supplies for two trailers, like the one seen in this photograph provided by John Knapp. Everything from clothes, food, furniture, toys, pet supplies, and cleaning products were delivered on Friday. “Seeing the damage firsthand was dramatic and confirmed the importance of the delivery,” Knapp said in an email. “Thanks to all who gave, WATZ radio for its unending announcements, and everyone who passed the word. In addition to the supplies delivered, over $1,100 was donated to the Midland Community Foundation for flood relief.” Calls have continued to come in to donate more, so the collection will continue at State Farm Insurance on Ripley Boulevard and will be delivered when enough has been received. “The need is great and will be ongoing,” Knapp said. Call 989-464-7464 with questions.
