FFNM Legacy Foundation announces $13K in local grants

ALPENA — First Federal of Northern Michigan (FFNM) Legacy Foundation recently approved $13,050 in grants.

The first-quarter grants awarded will support arts, cultural, educational, and human service programs and projects in a seven-county area that includes Alcona, Alpena, Cheboygan, Emmet, Montmorency, Otsego, and Presque Isle counties.

FFNM Legacy Foundation Grants are:

¯ Alpena Civic Theatre, Inc. — $2,000 to replace the stage lighting system;

¯ Alpena Public Schools Summer Institute — $1,500 for classroom supplies;

¯ Ausable Valley Nor-East’r Association of Folk — $1,000 for the Nor-East’r Music & Arts Festival;

¯ Friends of Ocqueoc Outdoor Center — $1,000 toward the youth bunk bed project;

¯ Friends Together — $2,000 toward the replacement of vehicle used to transport those receiving cancer treatment;

¯ God Loves You! Food Pantry — $1,000 for food pantry equipment and food;

¯ Junior Achievement of Northern Michigan — $800 for program expansion to Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties;

¯ Northeast Michigan Center for Fine Arts (Art in the Loft) — $1,000 for the Young Artist Exhibit;

¯ Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency — $750 for the Alpena Veteran’s Coffee Hour program;

¯ Presque Isle Township Fire Department — $1,000 for ice rescue equipment;

¯ Sunrise Community Food Pantry — $1,000 for pantry inventory.

Headquartered in Alpena, the First Federal of Northern Michigan Legacy Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to serving community activities and nonprofit organizations in the Greater Alanson, Cheboygan, Gaylord, Lewiston, Oscoda, Mio, and Alpena areas.
