AAACU gives to Art in the Loft, Hospice

ALPENA — Through the hard work and dedication of its employees and the generosity of its membership, Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union raised $2,542.63 for Art in the Loft’s R.E.A.C.H. Program.

R.E.A.C.H. (Recognize Everyone’s Abilities and Creative Hearts) provides students with special needs from Alpena High School, Thunder Bay Junior High, and Pied Piper an opportunity to learn vital life skills that better their education while instilling confidence and self-efficacy to be successful in all aspects of their lives.

Along with member donations, the credit union’s Alpena Main Office team members sold candy bars, held various raffles, and donated $2 per employee to dress down on Fridays to help raise funds for the R.E.A.C.H Program.

AAACU raised $321.30 for Hospice of Michigan.

HOM is the largest hospice provider in the state, serving more than 4,700 patients annually in 46 counties. HOM welcomes those who are uninsured, or whose treatment is more expensive than what other hospices can provide. They depend on the financial support of donors like AAACU for treatments, medications, grief support, and spiritual care of patients and families in need.
