Color Run Sat.

The Michael Polaski Memorial 5K Color Run/Walk is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alpena County Fairgrounds. Race-day registration opens at 9 a.m. Cost is $20 per adult, $15 per child ages 6 to 15, and free for 5 and younger. The One-Mile Walk starts at 10 a.m. and the 5K starts at 10:30 a.m. Color is optional. All proceeds benefit MidMichigan Cancer Center-Alpena.

Dolly Parton Imagination Library sign up Sat.

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library Kick Off on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Alcona County Library in Harrisville, and noon to 2 p.m. at Curtis Township Library in Glennie, will give parents a chance to sign up their children, ages 5 and younger, to receive a free book each month. Stargazing class Saturday

Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan Planetarium presents Telescopes 101: Introduction to Stargazing from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, for ages 10 and up. A class with John Winckowski is from 3 to 4 p.m., followed by a planetarium presentation from 4 to 5 p.m. Cost is $3 per student ages 10 to 18, $5 per adult, or $4 per museum member. Chicken dinner

The 109th Annual Chicken Dinner is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Long Rapids Township Hall on M-65, sponsored by Long Rapids First Congregational Church. Cost is $12 per adult, $5 for ages 6 to 12, free for ages 5 and younger. Takeouts are $12 each.
