Alcona Small Farm Conference in January
The Second Annual Alcona Small Farm Conference will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 19.
Farm to Fork Alcona provides educational workshops, certified locally sourced dinners, and a Farm Conference to create a larger awareness of the Farm to Fork movement in Alcona County and Northeast Michigan. All proceeds go back to continue this effort.
The $40 event registration fee for Saturday covers breakfast and lunch from locally-sourced foods, as well as all presentations, handouts, door prizes and more.
Get practical advice from experts on how to turn your garden or farm into a thriving business, and processing local foods for profit.
This educational event is for seasoned growers, those interested in starting a new trade, and those interested in the local food movement.
The conference features keynote speakers, a panel discussion and six breakout sessions on finances, practical advice and success stories.
There is a special pre-conference program at Lost Lake Woods Club at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, with chef and farmer Adam Beckta called, “The First Course: Wine & Cheese Pairing – Michigan Style.”
Cost for this Friday reception is $15 for conference attendees, and $25 for all others.
