Julie Wiechec and Austin Gilmet announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Daniel and Mary Wiechec of Troy. The future groom is the son of John and Barb Gilmet of Alpena.

Julie is a 2010 graduate of Troy Athens High School and a 2014 graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor in Education. She is currently employed at Alpena Public Schools.

Austin is a 2010 graduate of Alpena High School and a 2013 graduate of Michigan State University with a certificate in Landscape and Nursery Management. He is currently employed at Thunder Bay Tree Service.

The couple will exchange their wedding vows July 29, 2017 in Alpena
