The Hillman High School boys basketball team took a tough road loss at Charlton Heston Academy, 50-36. Hillman outscored Charlton Heston in the third quarter and cut the academy’s lead to seven points in the fourth, but would ultimately have to begin to foul Charlton Heston and the opponents capitalized, finishing 8-12 from the line to seal the victory. On Thursday, the Alpena boys varsity swim team traveled to Caro and took a big win, 89-72. “The team was two swimmers down which motivated everyone else to step up and give everything they had,” coach Jennifer Johnson said. The Hillman boys basketball team improved to 3-2 on the season defeating Whittemore Prescott at home on Monday night, 69-36. Hillman started sluggish on the defensive end in the first half giving up 26 points but scoring 37.
