Mary Louise Hart, age 94, of Alpena passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at My Michigan Medical Center of Midland. Mary Louise was born on Oct. 22, 1928, in Centerville, Iowa to the late Thomas Cyril and Ruth (Wardell) Evans. She married James M. Hart on Aug. 26, 1951, at The First Presbyterian Church in Centerville, Iowa. She graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in music education. Carl Richard Skwirsk passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Feb. 16, 2023, in Alpena, Michigan. Carl was born to the late John and Dorothy (Wencel) Skwirsk on June 20, 1932, in Wayne, Michigan. He was the 10th of 17 children. Carl graduated from North Branch High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army and worked for General Motors in Flint for 37 years. Carol A. Franklin, 75, of Lincoln, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023 at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland. Born Nov. 19, 1947, to Flossie (Ross) Kingsland in Bad Axe, Michigan, she was raised there. Carol graduated from Alcona High School, and attended Alpena Community College where she earned an Associate of Arts degree. She was a devoted caregiver, and worked for Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health from 1986 until 2013. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Lincoln. Michael David Phinney, 48, of Harrisville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023. Mike was born March 19, 1974, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was raised in Alcona County. On May 29, 2001, he married Heather Dunn in Las Vegas. Mike was a member of the Operating Engineers, Local 324. He enjoyed race cars, hunting, and fishing. Garland (Gary) E. Tubbs, 89, of Hillman, passed away at MediLodge of Hillman on Feb. 9, 2023. Garland was born in Alma, Michigan on Jan. 16, 1934. He is survived by one son, Charles G. Tubbs of Saginaw, Michigan, four daughters, Teresa A. Toivonen of Hillman, Melody K. Sharp of Alpena, Angela L. (Gary) Weiland of Hillman, and Kimberley L. (Terry) Arts of Lachine.
