BELAND, Joseph Edward, 94, of Alpena, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at home. Surviving are his wife, Kathryn; three sons, Scott (partner Kathleen Massini), David (Janet), Steven (Fay Sato-Beland); five grandchildren, Drew (fiancee Sadie Rath), Sarah (partner Alex Hofstrand), Willow, Andrew, Patrick (Amanda); three great-grandchildren; brother, David (Jean) Connon; several nieces and nephews. HAROLD CLIFFORD DODGE

Harold Clifford Dodge, age 92, of Long Lake was called home by his Lord on Friday, May 19, 2023. He was born November 4, 1930 in Hawks to Harold and Genevieve (Caldwell) Dodge. Clifford graduated from Rogers City High School in 1949. He was employed by Michigan Limestone Company and sailed on the steamer SS Carl D. Bradley from 1951 to 1954. He married Doris Maerz on Sept. 12, 1953. Cliff and Doris then moved to Long Lake in 1957. DANIEL LAWRENCE LISKE

Daniel Lawrence Liske, 89, of Hubbard Lake passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at MediLodge – Alpena. Daniel was born in Hubbard Lake on April 4, 1934, to the late Julius and Hulda (Schmidt) Liske, and married Patricia Winhouse. He enjoyed woodworking. Surviving are his wife, Patricia; son, Mark (Renae) Liske; five grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Peirce, Joshua (Sarah) Liske, Jamie Rademacher, Kasandra Liske, Lake Rademacher; and two great-grandsons. Mr. Liske was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. Cremation arrangements have been handed by the Bannan Funeral Home.

DOROTHY MAURINE MOORE

Dorothy Maurine Moore, 93, of Grand Island, Florida passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, at Tavares Cornerstone Hospice Home. Dorothy Maurine Jones was born July 10, 1929, in Alpena County to the late Henry and Bertha (Whitehead) Jones. On March 1, 1958, she married Donald Moore. He preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 2015. Dorothy enjoyed sewing and making baby quilts. She was a devout Christian woman who lived her life with faith in her Lord and Savior. Thomas Patrick Murphy, age 74, passed away Feb. 15, 2023, in Arcadia, Florida. Mr. Murphy was born Aug. 28, 1948, in Alpena, Michigan to the late Vern and Helen (Kennedy) Murphy. Thomas retired from General Motors Corp. He also was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. Mr. Murphy enjoyed Red Wings Hockey, karaoke, golfing, fishing, “being the life of the party”, boating, camping, woodworking, and creating things out of PVC. He enjoyed tinkering on anything with an engine, fishing and his radio controlled cars.
