John Irvin Yake of Ossineke, Michigan, age 81, died Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Michigan Medicine Hospital in Ann Arbor. John Irvin Yake was born to Madeline (Poirier) Yake and John W. Yake on Feb. 11, 1942, in Alpena, Michigan. John was drafted into the Army and served in the Vietnam War from 1965-1967. He specialized in Ordinances and Supply. John worked at General Motors as a millwright/welder during the peak of Flint’s auto industry days from 1963-1994. After his retirement, John spent much of his time visiting with family and friends. Born on April 29, 1948, in Alpena to the late Ferdinand and Leona (Sabourin) Maciejewski and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Barbara Weise on April 29, 1972.
