The Woods Track Club outstanding at state meet

The Woods Track Club finished their season at the state track meet in fine fashion. The indoor track club had five athletes earn All-State honors during the two-day event held at both Central Michigan University and Eastern Michigan University. Zachary Zaborney had an outstanding weekend finishing second overall in the triple jump (41-05.75), Gabe Bullis also had a second place finish, with a vault of 15’9 in the pole vault. Aden Smith finished third overall in the 1600 (4:19) followed closely by his brother Josh who finished fourth (4:21). Eli Winter finished seventh overall in the shot put with a throw of 48’10. Winter also participated in the weight throw and placed ninth with a throw of 51’10. Zaborney also placed 11th in the long jump (20-02.75), 18th in the Sprint Medley Relay along with teammates Clay Donajkowski, Kody Bertrand and Drew Seabase, and qualified for the semi-finals in the 60 meter hurdles. Other Woods athletes competing and having stand out meets were Maddy Boyd who ran a 11:09, finishing ninth in the 3200, the girls Sprint Medley Relay team consisting of Alexis Reynolds, Madi Szymanski, Grace Mitchell and Emma Fountain finished 12th overall with a time of 4:36.25. Szymanski also set a career best in the 1600 with a time of 5:14, and Arthur Paad competed in the shot with a throw of 43’2.
