ALPENA -- Home Depot received the 2019 Health Leadership award during the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce annual dinner on Feb. 9.
The award, given by the Business Relations Committee of the MidMichigan Health Foundation's Development Council, honors an area business for "leadership in promoting positive lifestyle choices and offering innovative health programs to their employees," according to a news release from the foundation.
Home Depot was chosen for its daily safety briefings and stretching exercises for employees and other initiatives such as flu shots, a tobacco cessation program, biometric screenings, an employee assistance program, discounts for Weight Watchers, and more.
