LIVONIA — The Lumberjacks (2-11) battled back from a 17-point deficit with seven minutes left, but ran out of time on Friday. Alpena trailed 35-30 at halftime and outscored the Ocelots 44-42 in the second half. Parker Neu led Alpena with 15 points, Chris DeRocher added 12 and points and 11 rebounds, Raquan Huntley and Brayden Mallak each had 12 points and Cleveland Baker chipped in with 11 points.

“I’m extremely proud of the fight we had. Our guys refused to quit, which is very rewarding as a coach,” ACC coach Mark Jacobs said. “We were down a few guys, so I’m playing my bigs a lot. Chris played 40 minutes tonight and I guarantee you he would have went another 40 minutes if we needed him to.”
