Wildcats get late comeback victory at Dow Diamond

The Alpena Wildcats varsity baseball team showed grit and determination late in the game on Thursday with a comeback victory against the Bay City John Glenn Bobcats at Dow Diamond in Midland, home of the Great Lakes Loons minor league team. AHS won 7-6. Alpena got a runner on base early with a two-strike single to center field by Cam McEwen, but they could not capitalize on it. ALPENA — The Alpena Sports Hall of Fame will honor five inductees at its Hall of Fame banquet on June 7. The inductees include the following: SUE (PIPER) GEYER - AHS 1981 Sue (Piper) Geyer established herself as one of the Alpena area’s most consistent women’s golfers over the course of more than two decades.
