Hillman volleyball dominates Whittemore-Prescott in straight sets

HILLMAN – The Hillman Varsity Lady Tigers volleyball team secured a dominant sweep over Whittemore-Prescott on Thursday night, taking the match in three straight sets with scores of 25-19, 26-24, and 25-15. With the victory, the Tigers improved to 5-4 overall on the season. Hillman sweeps Fairview in North Star League matchup

HILLMAN – The Hillman Varsity Volleyball team picked up a decisive North Star League (NSL) win on their home court, sweeping the Fairview Eagles in three straight sets with scores of 25-13, 25-16, and 25-12. Leading the Tigers were: Aubrey Weiland with 20 points, 7 aces, 4 kills, 6 digs; Abby Oswald with 11 points, 4 aces, 6 digs: and Riley Cook with 10 points, 6 aces, 4 kills, and 3 digs. With the league-opening victory, Hillman moves to 4-4 overall on the season and starts off 1-0 in NSL play.

LINCOLN – Alcona earned its first win of the season Thursday, defeating Pellston 48-6 in eight-player football. Kameron Owens rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns, and Adalai Liebler added 179 yards and one score. Lochlin Gordy ran for a touchdown and caught a 73-yard pass from Grady Goddard.
