Madalyn Farley and Darga also recorded personal records in the 500-yard freestyle.
"As a head coach, one of the most rewarding parts of coaching is watching the hard work these girls put in every day pay off in the pool," said Jennifer Johnson, Alpena's head coach. "Seeing so many personal records throughout the meet is incredibly exciting. These swimmers continue to push themselves, support one another and show just how much they are capable of accomplishing. I couldn't be prouder of their dedication and progress."
Johnson credited Coach Jacques for the team's success, noting the thought put into meet lineups and event placements.
"Coach Jacques has been a huge part of our success," Johnson said. "The time and thought put into our meet lineups and placing swimmers in events where they can be most successful have made a tremendous difference. That strategy, combined with the girls' hard work and determination, has helped us continue to grow stronger as a team."
