Heston holds off Alcona as Tigers fail to cash in turnovers

ST. HELEN -- Charlton Heston Academy defeated Alcona 25-14 in eight-player football Friday night, handing the visiting Tigers their second loss of the season.

Alcona forced four turnovers but could not convert them into enough points, coach Jason Somers said. The Tigers' offense stalled for much of the night.

Grady Goddard led Alcona on the ground with 68 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Lochlin Gordy had 13 tackles and Kameron Owens added 10.

The loss dropped Alcona to 1-2. The Tigers opened the season with a 71-6 defeat at Central Lake on Aug. 28, then beat Pellston 48-6 on Sept. 3.​

Alcona hosts Hillman on Friday.
