INTERLOCHEN - The Alpena High School girls' golf team won the Traverse City West Invitational on Monday at Interlochen with a team score of 383.
Grace Bouchard won medalist honors with a 74, breaking her own school record of 75. Carli Susewitz finished sixth with a 91.
Other Alpena scores were Caroline Robertson 107, Hannah Brownridge 111, Sammi Silver 112 and Claire Kinzey 113.
The Wildcats lead the Big North Conference in points.
Coach Courtney Nunneley said the team is playing at a level no previous Alpena girls' golf team has reached.
"I'm very proud of how hard our girls have worked to be able to play at the level they are playing at," Nunneley said. "They are doing something that no other Alpena girls' golf team has done."
The Wildcats set goals at the start of the season to return to the state finals as a team and to win a regional title.
"This is now the second tournament we've won this year and that makes winning regionals seem that much more possible," she said. "I couldn't be any prouder of them as their coach."
