Alpena girls swim team beats Cadillac 98-71

CADILLAC - The Alpena High School girls swim team defeated Cadillac 98-71 on Monday.
Alpena won the opening 200-yard medley relay with Elizabeth Rabbideau, Penelope Conboy, Tryst Bukowiecki and Haley Stenz.
Rabbideau won the 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. Bukowiecki won the 50-yard freestyle and finished second in the 100-yard butterfly. Stenz won the 100-yard freestyle and placed third in the 50 free. Conboy took second in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke.
Arabella Nunez finished second in the 200-yard freestyle and third in the 100 butterfly. Jacquelyn Frantz placed third in the 200 free and 100 breaststroke. Emma Darga was second in the 100 free. Gabriella Tolan took third in the 500 free, and Olivia Sherwood was third in the 100 backstroke.
Alpena's 200-yard freestyle relay of Conboy, Nunez, Stenz and Bukowiecki finished second. Ellie Quick, Eva Trainer, Tolan and Frantz took third.
In the closing 400-yard freestyle relay, Sherwood, Darga, Nunez and Rabbideau placed second. Quick, Madelyn Farley, Lucy Duthler and Frantz finished third.
Several Alpena swimmers recorded personal-best times, according to coach Jennifer Johnson.
Alpena's next meet is Sept. 29 against John Glenn.
