Wildcats’ softball team receives honors
Courtesy Photo Pictured is the 2026 Alpena Wildcats varsity softball team. Several players received end of season honors on Thursday at an awards banquet at Alpena High School. The team also received Academic All-State honors for a cumulative team GPA of 3.81.
ALPENA – Several members of the Alpena High School varsity softball team were recognized with All-Big North Conference (BNC) and All-District honors for their strong performances during the 2026 season.
The individual player awards, announced at the end of season banquet on Thursday, highlight the contributions of stellar athletes throughout the season. The team also received a significant academic accolade, being named a 2026 Academic All-State Team with a team GPA of 3.81.
Individual honors include:
Emalee Parsons – earned BNC Honorable Mention honors as a first baseman.
Georgia Alberts – was selected to the BNC First Team as an infielder and also earned All-District recognition at second base.
Maddie Spomer – picked up BNC First Team honors as an outfielder along with All-District honors in the outfield.
Laura Poli – was named to the BNC First Team as a utility player and earned All-District honors in the utility role.
These honors cap a competitive season for the Wildcats and underscore both the athletic talent and academic excellence with the Alpena High School softball program.
