ALPENA — The Alpena 11-12 All-Stars got off to a winning start on the opening night of Little League district play on Tuesday, defeating West Branch 7-0.

Zach Orban was dominant on the mound for Alpena, striking out 13 batters through five innings.

At the plate, Alpena had 14 hits — Evan Kalisch led Alpena with three and Orban, Eli Samp, Kia Peterson and Zander Barbeau all had two hits.

Alpena plays Hillman today at 4 p.m.
