GRAND RAPIDS — Three Alpena wrestlers competed in the Division 2 state finals on Friday at Van Andel Arena, but weren’t able to bring home all-state honors.

Mason Bray (160) was pinned in his first match and then lost by technical fall in the consolation bracket. Austin Bush (125) won his first match in a 9-2 decision, but had his season end due to injury in his first consolation bout. Declan Genova (145) was pinned in his first match, won his second match in a 10-5 decision and was pinned in his third match.

All three wrestlers gave Alpena its first state finals qualifiers since 2014.
