Hillman tops Alcona

LINCOLN — Hillman earned a pair of 9-5 victories over Alcona on Monday.

In Game 1, AJ Jones earned the win for Hillman (3-1) in relief, allowing one earned run on one hit with three walks and three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.

Zak Kazyaka was 1-for-3 with two runs scored for Hillman; Jaden Dove and Jones each had an RBI and scored a run; Brady Firman had a hit and two RBI and Adam Ruthko was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.

Edwin Hardies earned the win in relief in the second game, pitching three innings while allowing three runs (one earned), three hits and three walks while fanning five.

Kazyaka was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI; Dove was 2-for-4 with two runs scored; Jones was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and four RBI; London Achatz had an RBI; Caleb Hiveley scored a run and Hardies scored two runs.
