Sault Ste. Marie 4, Alpena 1

SAULT STE. MARIE–Alpena scored first on Saturday, but the Blue Devils controlled play from there, scoring four unanswered goals. Eli Gosselin scored for Alpena (2-9-1) with an assist from Cam Young. Alpena was tied with Sault 1-1 after one period, but Sault took a 2-1 lead after two frames and added two more goals in the third period. Alpena hosts Cadillac on Monday.

BOYS BAKSETBALL

Alcona 52, Hillman 40

LINCOLN–Zach Stephenson had 20 points and DJ Howe added 17 for Alcona (6-4), who pulled away from Hillman with a 19-4 run in the fourth quarter in a Saturday win. Alcona led 13-12 after one quarter, 22-21 at halftime trailed 36-33 after three quarters. Trenton Taratuta led Hillman (7-4) with 18 points and Landen Timm had five.
