Onaway 79, Central Lake 33

ONAWAY–Kevin Pearson was a two-way force for the Cardinals (6-3) on Thursday, scoring 33 points and leading an impressive defensive effort. Onaway led 22-11 after one quarter, built a 49-15 lead by halftime and cruised from there. Jager Mix added 21 points for Onaway and Spencer Nash had nine. Austin Veal also scored his first varsity points and finished the night with five.

Onaway plays at DeTour on Friday.

Hillman 69, Fairview 21

HILLMAN–Trenton Taratuta scored 16 points, Jeff Klein added 15 and the Tigers (7-3, 5-3 North Star League) won big on Parents Night on Thursday. Hillman opened up an 11-3 lead early on and never looked back. Zachary Kazyaka added 10 points, Taratuta had eight assists and Caleb Hiveley had eight rebounds.

Hillman plays at Alcona on Saturday.
