Local runners compete at XC finals
BROOKLYN–Alpena High junior Madi Szymanski wrapped up her season on a strong note.
Szymanski finished 41st overall in the Division 1 girls cross country state finals on Friday at Michigan International Speedway.
Szymanski crossed the line in 19:20.53, finishing 22nd in her race.
Traverse City Central senior and former Alpena runner, Drew Seabase, earned all-state honors in the Division 1 boys race, finishing 13th in 15:46.41.
Rogers City’s Matt Wilbert and Morgan Baller finished 92nd and 127th in their respective Division 4 races, finishing in 18:47.93 and 23:15.18 respectively.
