The Lumberjacks wasted no time putting balls in the hoop as Alpena came out and scored 19 of the first 22 points in the contest and hit five of its 10 threes in the opening quarter as the Lumberjacks opened up an early lead and never looked back as they continued to build on their lead throughout the night a cruised to a lopsided win.

Alpena continued its strong play and dominated the first half as the Lumberjacks took a commanding 42-17 lead into the break.

The third quarter was much of the same as Alpena refused to let up and continued to extend the lead even further as the Lumberjacks held a 68-27 lead heading into the fourth quarter as they found ways to score inside and out on their to way to the most lopsided victory of the season on their home floor.

Four Lumberjacks scored in double figures. Along with Nguyen and Prevo, Dunson scored 15 points and Girard finished with 12 points and the trio of Nguyen, Dunson and Girard combined for nine of Alpena’s 10 threes, with Prevo connecting on the other three that came in first few minutes of the game.

The win was Alpena’s fourth on the season and the Lumberjacks started off their three-game home stand in dominant fashion.
