Mistakes hurt Posen in road loss to Mio
MIO — Coming into Friday’s game, the Posen football team had turned its season around and won its past three games, but the Vikings made a handful of mistakes that proved costly as Posen (3-3) fell to Mio (5-1) by a final score of 46-26.
Tyler Hincka had another solid day on the ground as he carried the ball 18 times for 143 yards and scored a touchdown. Quarterback George Kroll was 7-of-17 passing for 83 yards and threw a pair of touchdowns, one to Gage Kaszubowski and another to Chase Dubie.
Defensively, Tyler Hinkca paced the Vikings with nine tackles and Eyan Hincka finished with eight tackles.
Posen travels to play Charleton Heston in Week 7.

LINCOLN — The Alcona soccer team finished up its regular season in style on Friday, earning a 6-0 victory over Pinconning on Senior Night.
Brett Nelson and Joel Steiner each had three goals and a pair of assists in the win and goalkeeper Aidan Wrobel recorded a shut out, stopping all 10 shots that he faced.
“It was a good way for us to finish the regular season. We were up 2-0 at halftime and I told the kids we were a much better team than what we played like during the first half and they responded with four goals in the second half,” Alcona coach Tim Munro said. “We’re league champs and we had five seniors play their final game on our home field tonight and to come away with a victory is good stuff.”

POSEN–The Hillman and Posen volleyball teams went wire-to-wire on Thursday and Hillman ultimately came out on top.Hillman won 27-29, 25-23, 14-25, 25-19 and 15-11.Emalie Lis had 10 kills, an ace and four digs for Hillman; Angelina Hunt had five kills, 13 digs, two assists and five aces; Makenna Grulke had 10 kills, two assists, nine digs and seven aces; Melanie Morrison had nine kills, 19 digs, an assistant and an ace; Emma Libby had 25 assists, four kills, 11 digs and six aces and Ellie Crawford had three kills, 10 digs and an ace.
LINCOLN–The Alcona volleyball team hosted its annual Volley for a Cure on Thursday and came out with a victory.The Tigers defeated Au Gres 25-8, 25-9, 25-8.Lily Bilbey played strong for Alcona with 13 kills and Isabella Bates had 14 aces. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Friends Together of Alpena.
