Cardinals win SVC opener

ONAWAY — Despite not playing their best volleyball, the Onaway Cardinals came away with a sweep of Central Lake in the teams Ski-Valley Conference opener on Tuesday, winning by scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-16.

“It was nice to get our first conference win out of the way because we are trying to win a conference championship again. I’m very happy, but we still have a lot of work to do and we can definitely get better.”

Breya Domke led the Cardinals with 13 kills, 13 digs, three aces and a pair of blocks. Jackie Sellke dished out 22 assists filling in the setter role, Sellke also recorded nine digs, three kills and two aces.
