Alpena soccer team remains red-hot with win over Tawas
TAWAS — Make that five wins in a row now for the Alpena boys soccer team and another win in dominating fashion, as the Wildcats mercied Tawas on Wednesday 8-0.
Entering Wednesday’s matchup, the Wildcats were not only riding a four game win streak, but Alpena had outscored its previous four opponents 27-0.
After the mercy win over the Braves, Alpena is now 5-0-1 on the season and have outscored their last five opponents 35-0.
Ivo Arvidsson-Ullberg and Craig Tagliareni each recorded a hat trick, scoring three goals apiece in the win.
Alpena is currently ranked 13th in the state and will open up Big North Conference play today at Petoskey.

Atlanta goes undefeated in Tri
ATLANTA — The Atlanta volleyball team played host to Vanderbilt and Charlton Heston Academy on Tuesday and came away with two wins.
The Huskies defeated Vanderbilt 25-19 and 25-18 in the first match and went on to defeat Charlton Heston 25-16 and 25-22.
Freshman Andrea Jadrych led the Huskies with five aces, five kills and three digs. Marissa Perry added six aces, one kill and one dig and Jordan Kobielus put together a solid all around performance to propel Atlanta to a pair of victories, improving their record to 2-1 overall on the year.
The Huskies will be back in action today when they host Alcona.
