Hurons open with sweep of Tawas

TAWAS — The Rogers City baseball team opened its season in strong fashion as the Hurons traveled to Tawas and swept the Braves, winning game one 10-5 and finishing the day with a 22-2 victory.

Isaac Hein picked up the win on the mound, tossing five innings, allowing five hits and struck out three. Cameron Streich came on in relief to finish the game.

Offensively, Michael Karsten and Caleb Bade led the Hurons going 3-for-4.

The Hurons made quick work of Tawas in the nightcap, winning 22-2.

Karsten started the game on the mound and pitched four innings, allowed three hits and struck out five while not allowing a run.

Karsten and Austin Cook led Rogers City at the plate as Cook collected five RBI in the win.
