ACC opens season at Oakland
WATERFORD–The Alpena Community College softball team got an early season test against a talented Oakland team over the weekend.
The Lumberjacks didn’t win any of the four games the two sides played on Saturday and Sunday, but got some much-needed time outside in good weather conditions and made good contact at the plate.
In the first game, Jess Marwede had a double and Jasmyn Schultz had hit. In game two, Karah Dunson had a home run for ACC and Marwede and Elissa Nash each had a hit.
On Sunday in game three, Brittany Decker had two hits and Dunson, Nash and Madyson Girard each had a hit. In the final game, Marwede and Schultz each had a double and Decker, Dunson and Mykayla Price each had a hit.
Nash and Price each spent time in the circle for the Lumberjacks.
ACC (0-4) will be back on the road this weekend with a pair of games at Henry Ford on Friday and two more against the Hawks on Saturday.
