The Alpena Sports Hall of Fame announces the 1967 Huron Shores Little League team as its Team of the Year. This team was the first Little League team from Alpena to win a state championship and did so in a 20-inning thriller. Team members included (left to right): back row: Manager Bob Rohn, Abby Rensberry, Darryl Wallace, Matt Kinsinger, Randy McKay, Lowell Kollien, Rick Pokorzynski, Reed Tacia, Jeff Thomas, and Coach Howard Thomas; front row: Randy Hibner, Dan Rohn, Billy Timm, Randy Marwede, Jim VanWormer, Mike Wojda, Dan Shea, and Lloyd Wilds. The team will be honored along with four individual Hall of Fame inductees, two Boosters of the Year, and a Voice of the North recipient during the Hall of Fame’s annual enshrinement dinner.
