Wildcats honor their lone senior Lacy Martin

ALPENA – The Alpena Wildcats varsity girls basketball team celebrated senior night and pink- out night prior to their loss to the Petoskey Northmen, 68-32, on Friday in Alpena.
Senior Lacy Martin, the only senior on the young squad, was honored prior to the start of the contest, with her family at her side.
Alpena Head Coach Mark Toppi said Martin’s dedication and work ethic had a positive impact on the team as a whole.
“Lacy Martin has played a big role in this year’s team, she has been locked in and ready to give us good minutes when we call on her,” Toppi said. “She has been an outstanding teammate and an excellent role model for our young team. She will definitely be missed next season.”
Amelia Soltysiak led the way offensively for the Wildcats, with 16 points, while Emma Darga contributed eight points. Lexy Souva had five points.
Next up for Alpena is an away game against the Garber Dukes Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
The loss drops the Wildcats’ record to 3-18 overall and 0-11 in the Big North Conference.
