Tigers dominate in win over Fairview

The Hillman Tigers unleashed an impressive offensive and defensive performance, at home on Friday, defeating the Fairview Eagles 83-36. The win pushes Hillman’s to 15-2 overall and 8-1 in the Little Dipper North Star League standings.

The Tigers jumped out to an early 26-9 first quarter lead as senior Aedan Tucker would score 11 of his career high 24 points in that quarter as Hillman would cruise to a victory.

Not only did Tucker have a career night scoring he also filled the stat sheet with seven steals, five rebounds, and four assists.

Junior Center Eddie Prue would lead all scorers with 25 points including multiple dunks in the game. One of those dunks was assisted by senior Evan Crane, who would continue his strong play, rounding out the double digit scoring with 15 points.

Senior Xavier Nichols would have a nice night rounding out the scoring with eight points.

J.T. Witzke would lead the team in rebounding with 5.

Hillman Coach Eric Muszynski discussed his team’s performance as the regular season of play winds down.

“We really are playing basketball well right now and it’s the right time of the year to be heading in an upward direction,” Muszynski said. “The biggest thing is maintaining the focus.”

All the hard work the Tigers have put in this season is paying off at the right time, the coach said.

“We have been at it for the last 5 months, not including the offseason, for this moment coming up,” Muszynski said.
