Braves overpowers Hillman in girl’s basketball
TAWAS CITY — The Hillman varsity girl’s basketball team faced a tough road test on Tuesday night, ultimately falling to the Tawas Area Braves in a 50-27 decision on the road.
Despite some strong individual efforts in the paint, the Tigers struggled to find their offensive rhythm against a locked-in Braves defense.
With the loss, Hillman drops to 4-10 overall on the season.
The Tigers’ offense was largely anchored by the Oswald duo, who combined for 18 of the team’s 27 points. Madelyn Oswald led the Tigers with 11 points and added four rebounds.
Abigail Oswald controlled the boards with six rebounds to go along with seven points, and Brook Linseman contributed four points and three rebounds.
Hillman junior varsity team suffered a rare setback on the road Tuesday, falling to the Tawas Area Braves 44-31.
The loss marks only the second of the season for the Tigers, who move to 10-2 overall..
Despite the setback, Torri Brown fueled the Tigers’ offense with 15 points and three steals.
Raelyn Konieczny contributed seven points and three steals, while Madelyn Tucker put up a strong defensive effort with five points, seven rebounds, and four steals.
