The Alpena wrestling team crowned a pair of champions on their way to a fourth- place team finish at the Big North Conference Tournament in Cadillac on Feb.7.Leading the Wildcats were Ethan Kowalski (113) and Hudson Derry (175) who both earned first team all conference honors with undefeated first-place finishes. Westin Mitchell (190) earned second-team, all-conference honors with a second- place finish. Jude Krey (126), Jonathon Parris (132), Brody Oliver (165) and John Dargis (285) earned all conference honorable mentions with third- place finishes at the tournament. The Wildcat wrestlers will compete in Ludington on Thursday for the MHSAA Team District Championships, the boys compete in Gaylord on Feb. 21 and girls will be in Grayling on Feb. 22for the MHSAA Individual District Championships.
