Wolverines outpace the Tigers in NSL matchup

HILLMAN — The Hillman varsity girls basketball team faced a tough North Star League challenge on Thursday night, falling to the AuGres-Sims Wolverines by the final score of 38-56.

Despite a spirited effort on their home court, the Tigers were unable to bridge the gap against a sharp-shooting Wolverines squad.

The loss brings Hillman’s NSL record to 1-6, with an overall standing of 4-8 for the season.

The Tigers’ offense was largely driven by the Madelyn and Abigail Oswald duo and a strong presence in the paint from Maci Klein.

Madelyn Oswald led the team with 15 points, while adding four rebounds and making her presence felt with multiple steals. Abigail Oswald contributed a solid 10 points, five rebounds, and two assists.

Maci Klein anchored the boards with six rebounds to go along with six points and three steals.

Hillman will look to bounce back next week as it hits the road for a three-game stretch against the Rogers City Hurons, Tawas Braves, and Fairview Eagles.
