Hillman varsity and JV girls defeat Fairview
HILLMAN — The Hillman girl’s varsity basketball team relied on a steady defensive effort to secure a 35-28 win over the Fairview Eagles in a competitive conference matchup on
Wednesday in Hillman.
The game was a defensive battle from the start, with both teams working hard to find rhythm on the offensive end. Hillman was able to maintain a narrow lead throughout the contest by capitalizing on turnovers and controlling the glass.
Madelyn Oswald led the Tigers’ scoring effort with 12 points, providing consistent offensive production.
Maci Klein played a vital role in the win, turning in a well-rounded performance with eight points, eight rebounds, and five steals.
Jenna Bahrke also contributed to the Tigers’ success, finishing with five points and a pair of steals.
The win improves Hillman’s overall record to 4-3, while it moves to 1-2 in the North Star League.
The girls will look to build on this performance as they hit the road on Monday. The team is scheduled to travel to Hale for another important conference contest against the Eagles.
