Hillman boys defeat Hale

HILLMAN – The Hillman Tigers jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter 17-2 and would cruise to a 60-19 win over visiting Hale.

With the win, Hillman improves to 10-1 overall and 5-1 in the North Star League.

The night was special for senior forward Evan Crane as he would etch his name into the storied Hillman High School basketball record book because he recorded nine steals in the game.

The steal bumps Evan into a tie for fourth place for most steals in a game.

Junior Eddie Prue continued his recent scoring spree by scoring 26 points to go along with seven rebounds, five steals, and four assists.

Ty Muszynski would be the other double-figure scorer for Hillman, adding 10 points and senior guard Aedan Tucker chipped in nine points.

Hillman Coach Eric Muszynski discussed his team’s performance, particularly on defense.

“I felt the boys came out tonight and showed how much we have improved over the season. The first time we played Hale we gave up 36 points, so I was happy to hold them to 19,” Muszynski said. “This game was good as everyone received playing time and that makes me happy because I appreciate my guys and the sacrifices they make during the season.”
