Hillman rolls over Oscoda in boy’s basketball
The Hillman Tigers opened its season with a 48-28 win over the Oscoda Owls in Oscoda on Tuesday.
Hillman would have a balanced scoring attack and quickly opened up a 13-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and pushed it to 25-12 at halftime. The Tigers used a 12-4 run in the third quarter to ice the game.
Tigers’ coach Eric Muszynski said he was pleased with the way the team spread the ball around and the defense that it played.
“I thought tonight was a great opener. We had a balanced scoring attack with two guys in double figures and two more really close,” Muszynski said. “Overall, defensively, we played tough, holding a team to 16 points through three quarters is where we want to be defensively to start the season.
Senior forward Evan Crane led the way for Hillman with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while junior guard Ty Muszynski chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds. Junior center Eddie Prue would round the scoring out with nine points.
The Tigers return to action on Thursday at home against the Alcona Tigers.
