The Alpena wrestling team kicked off the season with two convincing dual meet wins in the Huron Shores Battle of 23 Wednesday night at Alcona High School.

The Wildcats topped Alcona by a score of 75 – 6 in the first matchup and then, the Wildcats beat Oscoda 53 – 30.

Carolyn Parker (106), Ethan Kowalski (120), Haley Stenz (126), Eli Werth (138/144), Matthew Spencer (150), Cayden Smith (157), Brody Oliver (165), Owen Zitlau (175), and Hudson Derry (190) all had two wins each.

Alpena will travel to Birch Run on Saturday in a large 12 team dual tournament for its next action on the mat.
