The Alpena 45ers defeated the Cheboygan Wendigo 13-4 at the Northern Lights Arena in Alpena on Saturday.

The team had many contributors in the lopsided win but none more impactful than those by Patrick Smith who scored a hattrick.

“Overall the team played good,” Smith said. ” We started off slow but we eventually picked up the tempo after the first period. My favorite part of the game was the fans. It was great to have a big crowd on our side. The loud environment lights a fire for our team and keeps us going.”

Besides the game, there was also a Christmas toy drive and Santa made a guest appearance. There were also many other activities.
