The rain at the Veterans Park in Cadillac on Saturday morning didn’t stop the Wildcats cross-country team from performing well. The girls braved a heavy downpour in the early race and managed a 3rd place finish in the large school division. Abigail Misiak, Gracelyn Heath, Izzy Szymanski, Marian Renard, Ava Karsten, Madison Srebnik, and Abby Ruczynski made up the top seven for the Cats.

The AHS boys were winners in the large school group made up of 6 teams. Xander Allen’s first place finish paced the men. Logan Szumila was 3rd and Brendan Werth’s placing put 3 Wildcats in the top 5.

Next up for the Team is the MHSAA Division One Regional Championship at the Mount Pleasant Cross Country Course on Saturday. The team and/or individuals will be competing in an attempt to qualify for the MHSAA Division One State Championship.
